RESCUE RAPPELLING

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This is an entry level class for beginners and more experienced rope rescue personnel.
Taking this class gives rescuers more time rappelling and practicing techniques while hanging on rope. This class is a 20 Hour Class.
Class begins with a thorough equipment familiarization and safety lecture
Subsequent days include “hands-on” practice.
Students will gain knowledge in knots used for rescue rappelling, anchoring techniques, belay techniques, self-rescue techniques (getting out of a jam), assisted rappelling and rappelling Pick-Off techniques.
Students may want to bring an ATV in order to get to some of the bluff sites that are 3 miles into the back-country, be willing to walk long distances when attending class here on Signal Mountain, Tennessee.
20 Hours (1/2 day and then 2 more 8 hour days)
Cost: $350.00 each (Lodging free as always @ Signal Mtn., TN. site)
4% mark-up for credit card payment

PRE-REQUISITES:

Must be physically capable of walking up and down steep mountainous terrain with rope gear, food and water. (No Pre-Courses)

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

A confirmation letter will be e-mailed or mailed to the student which will include information concerning lodging, directions and what students should bring to class.

CERTIFICATIONS:

A Certificate of completion from, Mountain Rope Safety Courses
