CONFINED SPACE RESCUE

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

  • Conducted by Mountain Rope Safety Courses
  • This 40 hour course is recommended for all rescue personnel who will be responding to permit required confined space rescues.
  • Emphasis is on all areas of the OSHA 1910-146 standard, including: filling out a permit, air monitoring, ventilation, SAR breathing systems, communications etc.
  • The course includes hands on practice dealing with tripods, mechanical advantage systems, lowering systems, safely reaching, securing, stabilizing and if possible packaging the patient for extraction in a confined space.
  • The course begins with an in depth lecture on the OSHA 1910-146 standard, safety rules, rescue equipment, rescue knots, anchors, and anchoring systems.
  • The class then moves outside for hands on training which includes 4 days of multiple scenarios covering as many different types of confined space rescues as possible.
  • This course meets N.F.P.A. 2500,1006,1670 and 350 for Confined Space Technician
  • Cost for Tennessee Fire Dept. & Rescue Squad Members $416.00 each @ Signal Mtn. Site.  (Signal Mtn. Site, lodging free as always)

PRE-REQUISITES:

Must have passed Rope Rescue Operations within the past 2 years

CERTIFICATIONS:

 ·  A Certificate of completion from, Mountain Rope Safety Courses 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

A specific list of items students must have, will be e-mailed or mailed to the student upon registration.
