RESCUE ASCENDING

  • This is a class for those rescuers who need to climb or ascend a rope.
  • This class begins with an equipment familiarization and safety lecture.
  • Subsequent days are spent changing from rappel to ascend, vice versa, and developing ascending skills and rescuing your partner from a rope hang to a safe area.
  • Students must bring their own ascending gear and a safety belay will be used while working on rope.

Pre-Requisites: Only personnel who have taken Rescue Rappelling or Rope Rescue Operations classes may attend. Personnel trained elsewhere may attend upon approval of the Instructor.

Required Equipment:  Students must bring their own ascending system. Upon registration students will receive an email or letter addressing what students should bring to class.


Certification:

·         A Certificate of completion from, Mountain Rope Safety Courses

·         A Certificate of completion from the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads, (TARS) Rescue College

·         A C.E.U. will be awarded to EMS students by TARS.

Class Hours: Friday night 7PM – 10PM; Saturday 8AM-5PM; Sunday 8AM-5PM (EST) or Monday 12PM-5PM Tuesday-Wednesday 8AM-5PM (EST) 

 

Lodging: Free When Training @ Signal Mountain, TN. Site.

Cost: $200.00 per student (Min.=4 & Max.=6)
